Rather than going down with the ship, most of the time you can bail out of your mech/tank and go ahead to dance around mechs and destroy them as BA.ģ. I've been accused of cheating using a huit prime and LRMs with some NARCing, destroying mechs that cost over 3 times mine consistently even while engaging them outnumbered simply because I outmaneuver the heavy mechs and blow away the light ones. IMHO, it's fairly difficult to pilot a mech versus tank, aero, or BA - being that mechs are supposed to be "superior" weapons in the battletech universe, but currently it's too easy to screw them over divebombing with aero (since mechs apparently can't look up) dance around them with BA (since mech heads can't turn at the rate BA move) and cheaper tanks can blow them away. I brought some issues to attention to the devs too on their forums - here's what I think so far.Ģ. Cultural, political and social conventions vary considerably between worlds, but feudalism is widespread, with many states ruled by hereditary lords and other nobility, below which are numerous social classes.I've been playing this a lot lately, as I brought it up in the moddb best of 2009 thread Individual lifestyles remain largely unchanged from those of modern times, due in part to stretches of protracted interplanetary warfare during which technological progress slowed or even reversed. Generally, BattleTech assumes that its history is identical to real-world history up until approximately 1984, when the reported histories begin to diverge in particular, the game designers did not foresee the fall of the Soviet Union, which plays a major role past 1990 in the fictional BattleTech history.
MechWarrior: Living Legends was the recipient of the ModDB 2009 Mod of the Year and - due to rules preventing one mod from winning the same award twice - an Honorable Mention in 2010. Both MechWarrior 2 and MechWarrior 3 were Origins Award winners, taking Best Fantasy or Science Fiction Computer Game 1995 and Best Action Computer Game 1999 respectively. A third-person alternate view is available in MechWarrior 2, 3, 4, Online, and 5. Within the MechWarrior games, players take control of a single BattleMech and combat other BattleMechs, tanks, infantry, and more, from within the cockpit of their machine.
